Host an ASA U. Meet
Please read the following meet sanction guidelines thoroughly before completing the sanction request form.
ASA U. REGISTRATIONS: The host club is responsible for making sure that each and every participant at a sanctioned meet is registered with ASA U. This should be accomplished through close correspondence with attending teams beginning with the first meet invitation, long before the day of the meet.
Entry Procedures: Before the meet, check the entries from each club against the registration lists for those teams sent to you in response to your Meet Sanction Request. If you did not receive a list of registrations, please email ASA U.. Please email ASA U. with names of teams or individuals whose registration status is in question.
Meet Check-In: You should have a check-in table for participating
clubs. At check-in, any attendees who are not registered members of ASA
U. will need to complete registration forms BEFORE participating in the
meet. Under ASA Rules, every participant at a sanctioned competition
must be a registered member of ASA in good standing. [The answer at the
bottom of the form is 2] Failure to ensure that all participants are
registered ASA members will be grounds for revoking the meet sanction.
Have participants use printed forms to register with ASA U. at meet
check-in (you must collect payment by check with the registration forms;
payment may NOT be sent in separately or at a later date). It is best
to avoid this situation altogether by making sure it's clear in ALL
correspondence related to the meet that ASA U. registration is required
to participate.
Meet Referees: Anyone who is thoroughly familiar with ASA Rules and who can ensure a fair and honest competition in strict conformity to the rules can referee an ASA U. meet. No particular certification is required.
Entry Fees: Host clubs may charge whatever entry fees they choose, and host clubs collect and keep 100% of meet entry fees for all meets (Nationals excepted).
Rules: Have at least one hard-copy of ASA Rules at the meet for each referee and one for the meet director.
Meet Information: Please include the following text in any meet invitations and meet information you send out:

In granting this approval it is understood and agreed that American Swimming Association shall be free and held harmless from any liabilities or claims for damages arising by reason of injuries to anyone during the conduct of the event.
